Ultimo giorno a Barranquilla, Colombia. Riapro palmwine.it dopo un paio di settimane e mi prometto di scrivere post su questi venti giorni passati nella costa nord colombiana per girare un documentario sulla tradizione picotera locale (firmato Invernomuto e prodotto da Plusdesign Gallery – presto info). In pratica: sono venti giorni che ascolto solamente musica africana (così la definiscono qui, genericamente) degli anni ’70 e ’80, salsa, vallenato, cumbia (poca) e guarapo (anche qui, presto info, e non solo).
Stamane aprendo Twitter ho scoperto dell’esistenza di questo mix di Mr One Hundred per DISmagazine, ed è stata la nostra sveglia; soca del futuro. Una buona parentesi, cristallina, prima di ributtarsi per l’ultima volta in una verbena stasera. Già impazzii per il suo primo EP per Mixpak, attendo l’uscita del suo secondo, prevista per il 29 di agosto. Vorrei altri producer su questi bpm, altro calypso spaziale in grado di portare il mondo caribeño in cui mi trovo ora nello spazio. Ma come si vede dalla tracklist, è dura: l’80% dei brani sono firmati Mr One Hundred; le poche eccezioni sono successi soca ‘tradizionali’.
